Parent, baby and toddler group |
The Parent, baby and toddler group meets in the church hall every Wednesday during term time from 10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon. It is an opportunity for anyone caring for young children to meet for a drink and a chat whilst their children play. There are lots of toys, play dough , craft, singing and finger rhymes. Mums, dads, grandparents, nannies, all are welcome. |

Little Hedgehogs |
‘Little Hedgehogs’ is a pram service designed for the under fives. It takes place in church on the first Wednesday of the month at 11.30 a.m. In this short service young children are encouraged to sing simple hymns, pray and hear a story from the bible, simply told – with the help of Rev Hog. |

The Junior Church meets every Sunday during the school terms except on the 1st Sunday (which is the family service). Children meet in the church hall and return to the church for the end of the service. Each week there is a set subject and usually there will be a story, some craftwork and some games. |

Morning crew |
Morning crew is a group that meets on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month during the service. It is aimed at young people of secondary school age and has a relaxed, discussion based format. The group sits in the balcony at the start of the service and leaves shortly after the service begins for their session.

S Club Juniors |
S t . L eonard ’s C lub J uniors is a choir intended for children aged 7 years and over, led by an adult team all of whom have been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau. They meet during term time. |

| 7th Heaven | 7th Heaven is a group expressing worship through dance at St Leonard’s Church, Lexden. The group is aimed at young people, though there is no specific age restriction. There is a simple audition to join; any child who is enthusiastic and able to express themselves using the medium of dance will be welcome. |

| Lynx | Lynx is an informal instrumental group for young people that meet during term time. It is led by an adult team all of whom have been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureau. We are keen to welcome new members who can play at Grade 2 standard or above. |

Choir |
We are a very friendly SATB group who meet every Friday 8-9.30 pm in the Church. We welcome experienced and non-experienced singers. There are no auditions. |

Lexden ladies |
Lexden Ladies' Group is a group of ladies of various ages, married or single, churchgoers or not, who meet monthly on the first Tuesday for a variety of talks, demonstrations and outings. The meetings start at 7.45p.m. in Lexden Church Hall. Friendship and fellowship are key factors in the success of the Group, which was founded in 1952. Visitors and new members are welcome. |

The Mothers' Union is a world-wide organisation of more that 6,000,000 members. It is open to men and women who have been baptised in the Christian Faith. |

Beavers, cubs and Scouts |
The Scout Group provides scouting in the Parish for boys aged 6 to 14 and for girls aged 10½ to 14. The Group is run by an enthusiastic team of adult leaders who have all been vetted by the Criminal Records Bureaux as part of their leadership appointment. The Group provides a wide range of activities across the sections giving children a fun but structured education in life skills, practical skills and adventure. |

Rainbows | Rainbows are the youngest of the Girl Guiding organisation, taking girls aged between 5 and 7. We meet during term time after school. We play games, do craft activities, go to the park, work towards badges, go on District events, decorate the Church Christmas Grotto etc. It is a fun filled afternoon filled with lots of activities and laughter. After Alpha |
The Life After Alpha group is a regular monthly group that emerged from an Alpha course. It has been meeting monthly on a Wednesday evening for a number of years now and has moved on from its original Alpha membership to include a mix of regular St.Leonard's parishioners as well as others from the local area. Meetings are informal and we normally work through course books on a range of Christian subjects with plenty of time for conversation and discussion. We are always happy to welcome new members.

| Beta group | We were the second of the groups in the Parish to follow the Alpha Course in the year 2000. We decided to continue and renamed ourselves the Beta group. Since then, we have studied various aspects of Prayer, the Parables, Philippians and Women of the New Testament. |

Lexden Parish Players |
Lexden Parish Players have staged two plays a year in the church hall with its excellent facilities since 1971. We have performed a wide range of comedies, costume dramas and thrillers, ranging from Agatha Christie and Alan Ayckbourn to Noel Coward and Francis Durbridge. (We try not to repeat plays!) We always welcome new members, both on and off the stage, regardless of experience, Friday is rehearsal night. |

Lexden Choral Society |
Lexden Choral Society was founded by our Director, Sarah Blake, in 1992 and has grown to over 80 members with many additional singers coming from Brentwood and beyond. The society is known for it's friendliness and welcomes experienced and inexperienced singers. There are no auditions.Meetings are in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 7.30 to 9.45 pm. |

Acolytes |
We have a lively team of 15 well trained Acolytes who help with the liturgy of our Services. Mostly, they are candle bearers of our beautiful new lanterns but sometimes they have the excitement of lighting new cankles during our festive services. |
