Lexden Choral Society
Lexden Choral Society was founded by our Director, Sarah Blake, in 1992 and has grown to over 80 members with many additional singers coming from Brentwood and beyond.
We perform four concerts a year, (April, June, November and December); two with full professional orchestra and top soloists at the Garrison Church, Moot Hall, Charter Hall and Lexden Church.
The society is known for it's friendliness and it's innovative programmes. As well as performing all the major choral works, we have performed World Premiere concerts, such as Howard Blake's Stabat Mater. We have sung in various languages such as French, German, Latin, Russian and recently Welsh.
We have pioneered joint concerts with the Minden Band of the Queen's Division and more recently with the Parachute Regimental Band.
We also have a youth Choir who perform regularly with us.
We welcome experienced and inexperienced singers. There are no auditions.
We meet in the Church Hall on Tuesdays from 7.30 to 9.45 pm.
For more details phone our Director, Sarah Blake on 01206 543280 or come along to any rehearsal.
