It was announced today that our Priest in Charge, the Rev’d Matthew Simpkins has been appointed as Vicar of Clacton St James with Jaywick St Christopher. Details of Matt’s last Sunday with us, and his licensing date in Clacton and Jaywick will be announced as soon as possible, but it will be a number of months before he moves on.

Matt says, “It is a wonderful privilege to minister to the Parish of Lexden for seven years as Priest in Charge of the faithful and compassionate community of St Leonard’s. Despite my sadness at leaving, I am full of joy and excitement to be able to follow God’s call to serve with and amongst the people of Clacton and Jaywick.”
